Learn about Athlone’s colourful distilling history through stories about the brewers, bailiffs and distilleries as you wander the streets of this great town that once produced thousands of gallons of whiskey each year.

We will take a leisurely walk around Athlone, taking in the main town sights while passing Athlone Castle, The Luan Gallery and St Peter and Paul’s Church and visit some of the old historical sites associated with the once bustling distilling and brewing industry in Athlone. We will journey through a range of Irish whiskeys along the way and discover what makes them so unique.

Your group will enjoy 3 local whiskey tastings, one accompanied by a dark chocolate sample.
